We know being at home during this quarantine has its ups and downs. We’ve seen so many people start  doing virtual home workouts to Marie Kondo-ing your bedroom. One of the most popular trends we’ve seen is: new recipes! This is something we love trying here at Got Your Bach and for this blog post, we’ve brought on Sidana from Gather and  Graze to help us build a Pinterest Worthy Charcuterie Board!

First off, who are you and what is Gather and Graze?

My name is Sidana Sun, co-owner of Gather and Graze Events.
We create grazing spreads for all your events, big or small. Wow your guests with a stunning edible display and food experience that will create great conversations and lasting memories.

We will be putting together a fun charcuterie board and photographing it at the house. We’ll do  a step by step photo feature on it, so if  you want to do  a  step by step, that’d be super fun to incorporate.

Here’s how to be the hostess with the mostess, charcuterie style.

What items do you need for your board?

You will need 2-3 different types of meats & cheeses,  your favorite fruits & veggies, pickled relish (our favorite is caperberries!), dip(s), nuts, dried fruit, honey and crackers / bread. Don’t forget something sweet like chocolate truffles.

What are the most common things you put on your charcuterie board?

Some common items we include (but not limited to) are: prosciutto, soppressata, coppa, brie with honeycomb, gouda and manchego slices, jalapeno havarti cubes, fresh produce, 1-2 dips, savory & spiced nuts, a couple different kinds of relish, gourmet crackers and chocolates.

What are some fun items that aren't common to put on your board, but you guys love to incorporate?

Some items unique to our grazing spreads are smoked salmon, shrimp cocktail, savory meatballs and fresh seasonal produce like asian fruits.

What's the first step in creating a Pinterest worthy charcuterie board?

Find a beautiful board or platter. This can be wood, ceramic, glass, anything worthy of all the yummy goodness you’re going to display on it.

Step 1. Find the cutest wooden board. The bigger the better.

Step 2. Decide what kind of board you are going to make. In this example we are going to be sticking with the OG Cheese and Meat Board.

Step 3. Gather all of your products.

~ Mozzarella

~ Parmesan

~ White Cheddar Cheese

~ Honey Goat Cheese

~ Salami

~ Prosciutto

~ Pepperoni

~ Almonds

~ Regular Wheat Thins &

~ Sun Dried Tomato Wheat Thins

~ French Baguette

~ Dried Mango & Apricots

~ Honey Crisp Apples

~ Apricot Jam

~ Peach Jam

Step 4. Section off your board & place your jams in the center & work around them. Next add your cheeses throughout the middle of the board closest to your jams. Fold the deli meats and group them throughout the board. Stack your crackers & french baguette in sections next to your three cheeses. Cut and place your fruit wherever you’d like. Lastly, if you have small ramekin dishes you can add the nuts.

Step 5. Add decorative greens for texture and top with cheese knives.

Step 6. Pour a glass of your finest red or white wine.

Step 7. Enjoy.

Have you ever made a themed charcuterie board? If so, what kind?

Yes! One of our favorites was a Mediterrean vegetarian board. We substituted meats with fresh made falafels, spanakopita and other Mediterrean bites.

What’s your favorite charcuterie board you’ve ever made?

Our favorite grazing spread we’ve done was a table created for Dallas bridal boutique, Grace Loves Lace. It was Aussie inspired with custom requests like gold macarons, beautiful sourdough, pate and lots of fresh herb sprigs.

What areas do you service and what kind of packages do you guys offer?

We service all areas in DFW. Travel outside DFW is available, depending on distance.
We offer several different grazing options from boxes to entire table spreads. All options are customizable. Three sizes are offered for boxes, platters and long boards. Two options are available for table spreads. You can choose an appetizer grazing table (perfect for happy or cocktail hour) or go all out for the dinner option.

How can people get a hold of you?

You can reach us via phone, email or messaging us on our social media. We’d love to chat with you and create some grazing for your next event!
