Chip and Jo’s Town, aka Waco, Texas

We all know Waco because of shiplap and the Magnolia Silos, but what people don’t realize is that Waco is full of small businesses that you are sure to love! We have compiled a list of the best restaurants in Waco, and yes, they are Chip and Jo approved.

Obviously we are going to start with the couple that put Waco on the map, that's why we are starting with breakfast/brunch at Magnolia Table.

This menu is Chip approved, I mean he changes the sign outside of Mag Tab every single week, and let me tell ya, it always talks about the buttermilk biscuits. Everything is homemade and grown fresh right outside of the restaurant.

The breakfast sandwich is a GYB personal favorite, it has fresh arugula and the juiciest bacon. If you don’t stop here… did you even visit Waco?

Milo All Day is the cutest place to grab brunch! It's a modern space with an open floor plan, perfect for those Instagram moments. This is a southern, scratch kitchen so you will always be served the best ingredients! While you are there, make sure to grab the crispy brussel sprouts- the servers rave about them! You also can not leave without trying at least one homemade biscuit!

If your group isn’t looking for anything too heavy, head over to Lula Janes! Like Mag Tab and Milo’s, Lula Janes is no exception for the freshest ingredients! This is the place you head to for the most delicious pumpkin bread and breakfast pie, but if you’re a sweeter kinda gal, then you HAVE TO get the fudge pie! Pastries, pies, oh my- this is the place for you!

Let me tell ya, Waco is the place for some of the most innovative and aesthetically pleasing places to have lunch

You can’t get away with having a bach in Texas without Tex-Mex, that's a crime! Hecho En Waco will satisfy that craving for all things Mexican cuisine. Hecho serves perfectly seasoned rice and enchiladas, and of course, the best chips and guac! Not only do they have the best food, they have an extensive list of tequila and the finest wines!

koKo Ramen: This Japanese style vendor specializes in their many kinds of ramen, they also paired up with a locally based BBQ place to get the juiciest brisket served in your choice of ramen.

Press Waffle Co.: This is a crowd favorite at Union Hall! You start out with a waffle and can top it with a wide variety of toppings such as bacon, flavored cereals, and fresh fruit! Our favorite is the classic chicken and waffles- it's delicious!

No matter what you choose to go with in Union Hall you will find something for everyone that is scrumptious!

Now we are going to talk about dinner and this has to be my favorite meal in Waco!

Di Campli’s Italian Ristorante is a new, authentic Italian restaurant in Waco and we can not get enough of it! Like many restaurants in Waco, Di Campli grows its own ingredients, so the menu is ever changing. Every pasta selection that is listed is handcrafted perfection- the alfredo is out of this world! They curate the cutest cocktails that are sure to make the cut for your Instagram. If pasta is your love language, then this is the place for you!

If you’re not in Texas for BBQ or Tex-Mex, then you for sure are here for steak! DiamondBacks is a romantic, award winning steak and seafood restaurant. The steak is marinated perfectly and your waiter can find you a perfect wine pairing. When asking a friend about DiamondBacks their response was “their lobster bisque is elite”!
